Dubai Island Project Marks World Environment Day 2026 with Awareness and Sustainability Initiatives

As part of World Environment Day 2026, the team behind Project R1013/2F – Improvement of Al Shindagha Corridor: Access to Dubai Island from Bur Dubai Side organized a series of environmental initiatives to promote sustainability, environmental responsibility, and workforce engagement.

The programme began with an environmental awareness session attended by senior representatives of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) and members of the project workforce. The session emphasized the importance of environmental protection, sustainable construction practices, and the shared responsibility of all personnel in reducing environmental impacts throughout project operations.

Workers actively participated in discussions and collectively took an environmental pledge, reaffirming their commitment to protecting natural resources and supporting sustainable practices both at work and in their daily lives. The event also included the installation of environmental awareness signage, officially launching the project's environmental campaign and reinforcing key sustainability messages across the site.

As part of the World Environment Day celebrations, a site-wide cleanup drive was conducted with the participation of workers and project staff. The initiative focused on enhancing site cleanliness, strengthening housekeeping standards, and encouraging a proactive culture of environmental care. Through the collective efforts of the workforce, the cleanup campaign demonstrated the project's commitment to environmental stewardship while translating awareness into meaningful action.

By combining education, engagement, and practical initiatives, the World Environment Day programme successfully strengthened environmental awareness across the project. The activities highlighted the importance of integrating sustainability into everyday construction operations and reflected the shared commitment of CSCEC and its workforce to protecting the environment while delivering infrastructure that supports future generations.
